Juhana works in response to the history of sites and institutions. During a residency in August 2010, Juhana Moisander interviewed staff about Cornerhouse urban folklore of the last 25 years for a series of uncanny video interventions installed across the site. Like much of his work,Juhana references mythology and early cinema, to produce ghost-like encounters. The use of single takes, reminiscent of early cinematic practice, and small, barely perceptible movement emphasises the uncanny impression. Dave Griffiths,Curator of the show.
